EYRE pieces are designed to be worn daily. With the right care, they'll maintain their brilliance and finish for a lifetime. Here's everything you need to know.
Solid gold: water-resistant and durable
Moissanite & lab diamond: scratch-resistant
All pieces: easy to clean at home
Gold
18K & 14K Solid Gold
Solid gold is one of the most durable metals for jewelry. It won't tarnish, rust, or corrode — but it can accumulate oils, lotions, and everyday buildup that dulls its surface.
Clean with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft toothbrush every few weeks.
Pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Air dry fully before storing.
Remove before applying perfume, hairspray, or sunscreen.
Avoid harsh chemicals and chlorinated water for extended wear.
Silver
Sterling Silver 925
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes when exposed to air, moisture, and sulfur compounds — this is completely normal and easy to reverse with regular cleaning.
Polish with a silver cloth or a paste of baking soda and water.
Store in an anti-tarnish pouch or airtight bag when not wearing.
Remove before swimming, showering, or exercising where possible.
Wearing it regularly actually helps prevent tarnish.
Diamonds & Moissanite
Lab Diamond & Moissanite Stones
Both are among the hardest materials in existence — diamonds at 10 Mohs and moissanite at 9.25. They won't scratch from daily wear, but surface oils can reduce sparkle over time.
Soak for 5 minutes in warm soapy water, scrub gently under the setting.
A simple clean restores full brilliance — they sparkle like new.
Avoid touching stones with fingers — natural oils cause the most buildup.
Professional steam cleaning is safe and effective once a year.
Pearls
Freshwater & Akoya Pearls
Pearls are organic gemstones that require the most delicate care. They are porous and sensitive to acids, moisture, and abrasion. Handle with care and they'll remain beautiful for generations.
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth after each wear to remove oils and perspiration.
Never submerge in water, use ultrasonic cleaners, or spray with perfume.
Put on pearls last — after makeup, perfume, and hairspray are fully dry.
Store flat in a soft pouch — never in plastic, which can dry out the nacre.
"Fine jewelry is meant to be worn. The more you wear your EYRE piece, the more beautiful it becomes — carrying your story in every mark and glint."
Storage Tips
Storing Your Pieces
Proper storage prevents scratches, tangling, and tarnish. Your EYRE box is designed to be the ideal home for each piece — use it whenever you're not wearing your jewelry.
Store Separately
Keep each piece in its own compartment or pouch to prevent metal-on-metal scratching and stone damage.
Avoid Humidity
Bathroom environments accelerate tarnish and can damage porous stones. Store in a cool, dry place.
Hang Chains
Store necklaces and bracelets hanging or laid flat to prevent kinking and tangling in fine chain links.
